NAB 2012: Blackmagic Design Meets Sports-Content-Creation Demands
Blackmagic Design will showcase a range of solutions at Booth SL220 that meet the demands of sport content creation for both recorded or live production. Blackmagic Design creates high-quality video editing products, color correctors, video converters, video monitoring, routers, live production switchers, disk recorders, waveform monitors, and more.
Sports programming accounts for the highest volume of live outside broadcasts, plus closed circuit television channels in stadiums and arenas set to achieve the same high standards of HD production.
Blackmagic Design’s ATEM Production Switchers have been used for live sports broadcasts and events around the globe. This range of switchers are built using advanced technology and feature loads of creative tools for the most demanding live productions.
ATEM Production Switchers can be fully controlled using the included ATEM Control Panel software or with an optional ATEM Broadcast Panel. Both 1 M/E and 2 M/E Production Switchers and Panels are available. ATEM 1 M/E Production Switcher has 8 video input from SDI and HDMI connections, while the 2 M/E has a huge 16 SDI inputs for the largest mutli camera live productions.
ATEM Television Studio is an option for smaller productions with a maximum of 6 inputs with the same SD/HD 10-bit video quality for $995.
HyperDeck SSD recorders transform video recording and playback. Using fast SSD technology, HyperDeck records 10-bit uncompressed and compressed video file formats. HyperDeck Shuttle is a portable battery powered field recorder with SDI and HDMI inputs and outputs. Recording from a camera’s output to HyperDeck Shuttle lets users bypass the compression used by a camera’s on board disk, drive, or tape, recording video in the highest full HD uncompressed quality.
HyperDeck Studio has dual SSD slots for continuous recording. When the first disk becomes full, recording automatically continues on to the next disk. HyperDeck Studio features SDI and HDMI inputs and outputs, with a built in LCD screen for thumbnail preview of recording and playback, plus a jog/shuttle wheel, RS422 deck control, timecode support, and more.
