CSN Mid Atlantic Adds Falgoust as Ravens Insider; Philly Adds Mosher as Eagle Insider
Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic has named veteran sports reporter and editor J. Michael Falgoust as Ravens Insider. In this position, the former USA Today beat writer will lead coverage of the Baltimore Ravens for the network’s digital media platforms and contribute to its news and game-day programs.
Comcast SportsNet and CSNPhilly.com has added veteran Eagles beat writer Geoff Mosher as an Eagles Insider. Mosher will join Ray Didinger, Reuben Frank, and Derrick Gunn to provide fans with daily coverage of the Philadelphia Eagles, on-air, online, and mobile.
Falgoust, who has more than 20 years of experience covering sports for newspapers and magazines, will provide daily Ravens news, analysis and features to CSNbaltimore.com, including the RavensTalk blog, and across the network’s mobile and social media platforms. He will also make regular appearances on Geico SportsNet Central, the network’s daily news program, and contribute to Ravens Kickoff and Ravens Postgame Live.
“Over the past two decades covering sports, J. Michael has gained an incredible amount of knowledge and distinguished himself as an excellent beat reporter,” said Comcast SportsNet Vice President of Digital Media Mark Lapidus. “His addition enables our network to continue to deliver the most comprehensive Ravens coverage across multiple platforms.”
Falgoust (@JMichaelCSN) joins the network after 12 years as a sports writer and editor with USA Today, most recently serving as the newspaper’s NBA beat reporter for four years. Prior to that, he spent nearly six years with the Orlando Sentinel, where he served in a variety of positions, including assistant sports editor from 1998 to 2000. He was also a regular contributor to Ring Magazine from 1995 to 2004, covering the sport of boxing. A graduate of North Carolina Central University, Falgoust began his career as a sports reporter for the Lenoir News-Topic in North Carolina.
Falgoust is the latest addition to Comcast SportsNet’s rapidly growing digital media department, which operates two regional sports websites, CSNwashington.com and CSNbaltimore.com, and a portfolio of mobile and social media platforms. These outlets feature exclusive written, video and interactive content from several prominent sportswriters, including Redskins Insider Tarik El-Bashir, Redskins Blogger Rich Tandler, Capitals Insider Chuck Gormley and Nationals Insider Mark Zuckerman, as well as a stable of digital media reporters and producers.
Mosher comes to Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia from the Wilmington News Journal where he was the Eagles beat reporter for the past seven seasons. In addition to his work with the News Journal, he is a correspondent for the Sporting News. Mosher is a graduate of Penn State University.
“I’m excited to be joining the best Eagles coverage team in the Delaware Valley,” said Mosher. “Nobody is more dialed into the Eagles than Reuben Frank, Ray Didinger, and Derrick Gunn, and nobody delivers Eagles coverage better and more comprehensively than Comcast SportsNet does.”
“We’re thrilled that we can have someone of Geoff’s stature and journalistic talent join us as an Eagles Insider,” said Todd Berman, Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia’s senior director of Digital Media. “Geoff, along with Ray Didinger and Reuben Frank, make the best Eagles coverage team in the Philadelphia market as CSNPhilly.com has now grown into the region’s largest sports Website, providing the best local sports content across all digital platforms with game analysis, expert opinion and online video across mobile devices.”
Throughout the Eagles season, CSNPhilly.com (@CSNPhilly) will have reports from training camp, game analysis and commentary with CSNPhilly.com’s Eagles Insiders Ray Didinger and Mosher, and columnist Reuben Frank (@RoobCSN), plus the daily video show, Eagle Eye.
