Fangoria Offers Public Domain Titles Converted to 3D
3dtv.com reports that Fangoria Magazine serving up free streaming of 3D movies
Don’t get too excited, these are conversions of public domain titles, done in anaglyphic 3D.
The first offering is from the Hal Roach Studios, a 1958 anthology series called The Veil with Boris Karloff. The Veil actually had some good stories, and its status in the public domain has seen it appear in numerous VHS and DVD versions. Strangely enough, the series never aired due to troubles within the studio system and the collapse of the co-production partner. Ten episodes were filmed, and with so few episodes any kind of syndication deal was out of the question. Some good actors were featured in the shows, including Patrick Macnee, my favorite character actor Whit Bissell and Tony Travis.
