ONE CONNXT To Deliver Yomiuri Giants Games to North America

ONE CONNXT, an award-winning leader in broadcast delivery, will transport 72 Yomiuri Giants’ games to North America this baseball season. ONE CONNXT has already shown its ability to transmit live sporting events such as Asian pro soccer, golf’s Emirates Australian Open and the 2012 Enjoy Jakarta Indonesia Open golf tournament.

“We take great pride in delivering the finest international sports and are thrilled to be selected to transport the Yomiuri Giants, Japan’s most popular baseball team,” said Dave Almstead, CEO of ONE Media Corp, the parent company of ONE CONNXT.

According to Paul Dingwitz, CTO of ONE Media Corp, “ONE CONNXT is perfect for live sports coverage. In addition to being able to meet or exceed U.S. domestic and international broadcast delivery standards, ONE CONNXT’s broadcast quality is a fraction of the cost of traditional broadcast methods.”

The Yomiuri Giants are Japan’s most successful baseball team. They are the current Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) champion and holder of 22 NBP Championship titles. Known as “The New York Yankees of Japan,” the Giants are Japan’s oldest and most popular baseball team. ONE CONNXT will deliver upwards of three Giants games per week to North America during its regular season on primetime. The games will be available on the ONE World Sports network, a sister company of ONE CONNXT.

There are many parallels between Japan’s NPB and the US Major League Baseball. NPB mirrors the US Major League Baseball season and rules. Many NPB players have crossed over to play in the MLB. Ten MLB teams currently include key players from the NPB on their rosters. MLB stars emerging from the Giants’ roster have included nine-time All-Star and 2009 World Series Most Valuable Player Hideki Matsui, All-Star Hideki Okajima and the Koji Uehara from the Boston Red Sox. Similarly, there have been MLB players who then played for the NPB including Davey Johnson, current manager of the Washington Nationals and 2012 National League Manager of the Year, New York Yankees star outfielder, Roy White and more.

ONE CONNXT was created by broadcasters for broadcasters. Unlike most other systems, ONE CONNXT was designed to meet or exceed broadcast standards and offers quality and reliability comparable to traditional broadcast for a much lower cost.
