CCW 2014: Telestream to Feature File-based Workflow Solutions

Telestream will demonstrate its file-based media products in booth 908 at CCW+SATCON which takes place at the Javits Convention Center in New York City November 12-13. Visitors to the Telestream booth will be able to see the company’s flagship Vantage product family that offers GPU accelerated transcoding and intelligent workflow automation for broadcast, cable, post-production, IPTV, OTT, and multiscreen delivery.

TelestreamTelestream will also demonstrate new versions of its captioning software products that easily integrate into automated file-based workflows to meet new FCC requirements, and Switch, the company’s new multiformat media player that provides professionals with everything they need to play, inspect, and correct their media in one, easy-to-use professional tool.

“CCW promises to help attendees navigate new technology and gain practical knowledge and creative inspiration to bring their vision to life. We are excited to join in that conversation and share how we can help them to creatively solve the challenges of our changing market. Our digital video tools and file-based workflow automation products enable users to transform video on the desktop and across the enterprise, allowing them to streamline operations, reach broader audiences and generate more revenue from their media,” explains Paul Turner, Vice President of Enterprise Product Management at Telestream.

Telestream’s Vantage platform provides a broad range of transcoding and file-based workflow automation software, making content production, multiscreen delivery, and device interoperability a hands-off process. Vantage combines transcoding, media capture, metadata processing, analysis, and content assembly into a unified system – that can be run on premise or in the cloud. Focusing on the growing needs of content owners seeking to develop multi-platform distribution architectures, the latest version of Vantage includes support for more transcoding formats across the Vantage Transcode product family. Full 4K support and HEVC encoding are now available in Vantage Transcode Multiscreen and Vantage Transcode IPTV VOD. Further, XAVC decoding and ProRes 4444 encoding have been added to Vantage Transcode Pro.

Built on the Vantage platform, Post Producer addresses the issue of repetitive rendering of different versions of media. Based on user templates, Post Producer automatically assembles multi-layer composites from video and graphics – enabling the creation of uniquely-branded versions of the same package for different distribution services. Alternate versions can automatically be created by simply substituting the necessary elements. Automated content production is now even easier with the recent ability for editors to design production templates in Avid, Adobe and Final Cut Pro editing systems.

At CCW+SATCON Telestream will showcase the newest versions of its file-based captioning software products, MacCaption and CaptionMaker that allow users to easily author, edit, encode, and repurpose video closed captions and subtitles for television, web, and mobile delivery.  The new versions of MacCaption and CaptionMaker include modernized user interfaces as well as new features designed to automate much of the cumbersome captioning workflow process. When used together with the Vantage family of video transcoding and workflow automation solutions, Telestream’s captioning products provide a solution to transcode, convert, troubleshoot, modify, and deploy caption data alongside video – regardless of the delivery platform.

Switch, the company’s new multiformat media player, is an indispensable tool for anyone in the media industry. With the ability to play professional file formats such as MXF, AS-02, AS-11/DPP, as well as transport streams, HEVC files and captions, Switch is truly unique in its abilities.  While the basic player and inspection functionality are free of charge, customers can purchase Switch Pro if they wish to transcode their media into a different format, view advanced application-specific metadata, or modify parameters and metadata. In addition to switching formats, Switch also enables packaging and distribution of content to media platforms, such as iTunes. Switch is now available for the Mac, and a Windows version will be available later this year.
