BIRTV 2015: PESA Provides Cheetah 4K Router for 4K Workflow Demo

PESA provided a Cheetah 4K router to Guanhua Glory AV System Integration Co., Ltd. (GHG) during last week’s BIRTV 2015 international broadcast show in Beijing. The Beijing-based systems integrator paired the router with Sony 4K cameras on the show floor to demonstrate an economical 4K workflow.

PESA“We had a terrific response to the technology,” says Dwaine McClellan, PESA manager of international sales. “For many attendees, this was their first exposure to PESA’s economical and efficient 4K routing solution. We were very happy to support GHG, which is a respected systems integrator in the region.”

Cheetah routers are now available in multiple configurations to support both UHDTV (3840×2160) and DCI (4096×2160) signals. PESA can mix and match between 4K CWDM and traditional copper or fiber I/O in the frame. Retrofit kits also provide a simple plug-and-play upgrade solution for any 3G-SDI Cheetah routing switcher, with the Cheetah 4K I/O card system replacing any existing 16-channel I/O card set. Once the control software is configured for 4K, the router system can run both 4K and 3G-SDI signals in parallel.

GHG was founded in 1997 and is known for its television studio, master control, and OB production truck design and integration. PESA also had its own booth at the show, where it showcased a full complement of digital video routers, DRS audio routers, converters and extenders, and multi-channel streaming appliances.
