Sportsrocket Unveils Sportsrocket Turbine

Sportsrocket last week launched Sportsrocket Turbine during the Formula Drift Streets of Long Beach event in Long Beach, Calif.  The announcement was made by Sportsrocket founder and CEO, Brian Bedol.  Sportsrocket Turbine is the first live sports syndication platform to empower rights holders to reach fans wherever they consume on almost any platform, within the platform’s native player.

“Sports fans, especially the younger ones, consume content on the platforms they already inhabit and rarely go to destinations anymore,” says Brian Bedol. “Turbine was created to offer rights-holders the ability to easily reach these fans, like home delivery for sports.”

Turbine is an historic advancement for digital sports distribution, reducing to one-click a complex, and expensive technical problem. For the first time ever, sporting events can be simultaneously live-streamed via single feed to all major social platforms, giving it the potential for massive global scale. Today’s 2017 Formula Drift Streets of Long Beach qualifying event (4:00 PM ET) will be live-streamed simultaneously to Twitch, Facebook, YouTube, Periscope,  NetworkA.com and FormulaD.com. FormulaD has quickly become the most popular motor sport among millennials.

“This is the most powerful syndication tool I’ve ever seen,” says Ryan Sage, VP and Co-Founder, Formula Drift. “We need to reach our fans all over the world and make it as easy as possible for them to watch Formula Drift. Sportsrocket Turbine is a game-changer!”

Live stream views of the Formula Drift event in Long Beach increased over 600% year over year, growing from 140,000 in 2016 to nearly one million in 2017, and minutes viewed grew to over eight million, increasing by 400% compared to a year ago. In addition to FormulaD.com, last weekend’s events were simultaneously streamed on Twitch, Facebook, YouTube, Periscope and NetworkA.com.

Sportsrocket Turbine doesn’t require long-term contract, can be licensed for a full season or individual events, and is integrated with the Sportsrocket’s existing operating system, which offers game and highlights management, multi-platform video-on-demand syndication, OTT distribution, subscriber and advertising monetization. Turbine also enables live look-ins on social media if the game is streaming elsewhere, such as OTT or behind a pay wall.

Sportsrocket’s mission is to level the playing field so every team and league has the ability to offer its fans greater access to the sports they care passionately about, anytime, anywhere, on any device.

In a short time, Sportsrocket has firmly established itself as a leader in the digital sports media industry, providing integrated solutions for production, distribution, management and monetization across multiple platforms for a wide range of high-profile partners, including ELEAGUE, Big Ten Network, AS Roma, National Lacrosse League, Major League Soccer, PGA Tour and Network A, an action and adventure sports channel.
