Eleven Sports Lets Kids Take Over Rockland Boulders Broadcast
Story Highlights
Eleven Sports will place a unique twist on the Rockland Boulders baseball game against the Ottawa Champions by giving kids the opportunity to take-over the broadcast of the match as part of a wider programming strategy aimed at delivering fun content created for kids, by kids.
The young sports fans will provide full in-game commentary as well as running the pre- and post-game shows. The kids will get to interview players, preview the action, discuss the key moments and analyze the result before getting the chance to recreate the top plays together with the NY Boulders star athletes.
“We are delighted to give young fans the opportunity to take over the broadcast and engage in the action alongside pros from the Can-AM League,” says Danny Menken, Group Managing Director, Eleven Sports. “We want to create a natural and exciting destination for kids to access sport. We believe there is huge untapped potential in serving up sports to youth and we are excited to roll this out with the Rockland Boulders and have some fun in the process.”
The introduction of this youth initiative falls under Eleven’s programming block aimed at kids and is aligned to Eleven’s global strategy of building fan engagement around content, in creating an interactive community where fans can go for access to their favorite sports beyond the linear broadcast.
Eleven Sports acquired the live and exclusive rights to all Rockland Boulders home games shortly after the network’s launch in the U.S. where it is available in 55 million homes thanks to carriage deals including, but not limited to: AT&T, DIRECTV, Verizon, Charter, and NCTC.
