NBC Sports Washington To Offer Predictive-Gaming Alternative Telecast for Eight Wizards Games

The Peacock RSN is embracing in-game betting with new alternative format

NBC Sports Washington will debut an interactive Washington Wizards alternate live-game experience featuring a free-to-play predictive gaming contest with a $500 prize, along with real-time sports-betting data and statistics, on NBC Sports Washington Plus when the Wizards host the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday, Jan. 11, at 7 p.m. It will be the first of eight alternative game telecasts scheduled on NBC Sports Washington Plus this season.

The elements of the predictive gaming contest, entitled Predict the Game, and real-time data will be displayed on a graphic overlay surrounding the regular live-game presentation, including full audio and video, which will be available simultaneously on NBC Sports Washington, as previously scheduled.

Predict the Game is an easy-to-enter, free contest that allows fans to predict various game and player performance outcomes through a series of approximately 30 questions that will appear on screen during the telecast. Fans will earn points for correct predictions, with the top eligible scorer at the end of the game earning or splitting the $500 prize.

Fans must enter Predict the Game, which is open to join throughout the entire game, and submit their predictions at www.nbcsportswashington.com/predict. Predict the Game leaderboards will be displayed at select times, and the winner of the contest will be revealed during NBC Sports Washington’s postgame coverage.

“Combining the excitement of live Wizards games with engaging predictive gaming and data feeds will deliver a very entertaining experience for viewers, from first-time gaming players to savvy sports bettors,” NBC Sports Washington SVP and General Manager Damon Phillips, said in the RSN’s announcement. “The level of interest from fans, partners and sponsors in this area continues to increase, so we are pleased to offer this compelling product this season.”

The alternate Wizards telecasts will also include several elements to help fans stay up-to-date as they play Predict the Game and inform those interested in sports betting. This includes real-time team and player statistics, win-probability data and gaming information, such as moving money line and spread.

NBC Sports Washington is scheduled to provide interactive Wizards telecasts for the following games this season on NBC Sports Washington Plus:

• Jan. 27 at San Antonio Spurs (7 p.m.)
• Jan. 30 vs. Indiana Pacers (8 p.m.)
• Feb. 2 vs. Milwaukee Bucks (7 p.m.)
• Feb. 22 at Charlotte Hornets (7 p.m.)
• Mar. 3 vs. Minnesota Timberwolves (6 p.m.)
• Mar. 18 vs. Utah Jazz (7 p.m.)
• Apr. 5 vs. San Antonio Spurs (7 p.m.)
