Why CDNs Alone Are Not the Solution to DDoS

CDNs (Content Delivery Networks) are globally distributed networks of datacenters serving web content and other Internet applications to end-users. Being distributed in nature, they are sometimes in the position to deliver anti-DDoS services. CDNs, though, fail to cover critical assets and customers should carefully assess any implication of how “always on” protection is implemented by the CDN. CDNs can be part of a more comprehensive multilayer, hybrid protection strategy.
