BitFire Hires Kristin Akimchuk as Director of Broadcast Operations

BitFire has hired Kristin Akimchuk as Director of Broadcast Operations. In her new role, Akimchuk is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of BitFire Networks, including two Network Operations Centers in Boston and Phoenix. She will also be in charge of staff training and maintaining the unmatched quality control BitFire provides. Akimchuk will work with BitFire’s partners to ensure that all content is delivered reliably and securely.

Kristin Akimchuk has joined BitFire as Director of Broadcast Operations.

Phoenix and Boston-based BitFire Networks has perfected an all-in-one, fully managed Internet transport solution with the ability to support an unlimited number of fully synchronized video feeds alongside their own communications system and data transport services. With clients like MLB Network, NHL Network, CBS Sports, ABC Entertainment, NBC Entertainment and FOX News, BitFire enables hundreds of live events each year and is known across the industry for their reliable delivery of multi-camera transmission services.

Akimchuk has been an industry pioneer for several decades, most recently as Vice President of Operations for VideoLink. With an engineering background, she previously held several management and technical titles there, including Director of Operations, Boston/Newton Operations Manager, Lead ReadyCam Engineer, Satellite Uplink Engineer, Editor, Technical Director and Field Audio Technician. Akimchuk’s consistent, seamless execution over her widely varied career makes her a perfect fit as BitFire takes IP transmission and distributed production into the future.

Akimchuk holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Ithaca College, earning numerous accolades while there. She was named Senior of the Year in 2005, as well as Best Director.
