Despite the unprecedented challenges presented by the pandemic, NBC Olympics built out a transmission scheme for this year’s Tokyo Olympics that was among the most ambitious and complex in history. In all, NBC transported an eye-popping total of 322 video feeds between the IBC in Tokyo and its multiple facilities in the U.S., including NBC Olympics’ Sports Production Operations Center in Stamford, CT.

In this keynote session at the 2021 SVG TranSPORT Conference, NBC Sports Group’s VP of Transmission Operations and Engineering Chris Connolly details how NBC connected production facilities across the globe and delivered the world’s largest sports event to millions of U.S. viewers under ultra-challenging circumstances.
