MEDIAPRO Canada To Produce Live Coverage of Canada Women’s National Team’s Celebration Tour on OneSoccer

OneSoccer will broadcast live coverage of Canada Soccer’s Women’s National Team Celebration Tour, which kicks off on Oct. 23 with a pair of home matches against New Zealand. The initial two-match series begins in Ottawa’s TD Place on Oct. 23, before moving on to Stade Saputo in Montréal on Oct. 26.

Canada are the reigning Olympic champions, having won the Gold Medal at the Tokyo 2020 Women’s Olympic Football Tournament in Japan earlier this year – their first time at the top of the podium after winning Bronze at Rio 2016 and London 2012.

The Celebration Tour marks the start of the journey to the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023 and the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Canada play their first official matches next July at the 2022 Concacaf W Championship, which will also be aired in full on OneSoccer.

“We can’t wait to be able to celebrate, connect, and play in front of our fans who cheered us on from afar in that special moment when we won Olympic Gold in Tokyo,” says Bev Priestman, Canada soccer’s Women’s National Team Head Coach.

MEDIAPRO Canada will produce live coverage of the opening two matches in the Celebration Tour from TD Place and Stade Saputo, using a minimum of eight cameras and two netcams. For the opener in Ottawa, analysis will be provided by former Canada Soccer’s Women’s National Team player and Olympic Bronze Medallist Kaylyn Kyle, currently a highly-regarded soccer analyst in the US. Game production will be headed by Alba Campabadal, Vice President of OneSoccer – showing MEDIAPRO Canada’s ongoing commitment not just to the women’s game, but to furthering the role of women in front of and behind the cameras. Commentary in both official languages will be provided.
