Oscar Teran Joins EVS as SVP of SaaS Offering and Digital Channels

EVS has appointed Oscar Teran as SVP of SaaS Offering and Digital Channels.

Bringing over ten years’ experience in strategic innovation, software engineering and SaaS development, he will head a new solution unit which will focus on the development and implementation of EVS XaaS business through existing and emerging product offerings. He will report directly to EVS’ Chief Marketing Officer, Nicolas Bourdon.

In his role, Teran will drive ideation to delivery priorities and will collaborate transversally with other teams to reinforce EVS’ SaaS capabilities across its end-to-end solution portfolio. He will also be responsible for ensuring the successful launch of a new digital platform that will enable EVS customers to purchase software licenses and easily deploy cloud functions into their existing workflows for added efficiency, flexibility and creativity.

Before joining EVS, he launched his own company, ‘Teran Consultancy Services’, where he provided consultancy services in strategic business and technology management for well-known international sports, telco, and media-tech companies including EVS.

Prior to that, he was Head of Technology and Solutions, CTO, at European Broadcasting Union (EBU), responsible for technology, software engineering, pre-sales, and product development until the end of 2019. In 2018, Teran played a crucial role in the launch of the EBU subsidiary, Eurovision Services, and opening a new technology hub in Madrid, taking an ad interim leadership role in the transition to the new organization. During his tenure at the EBU, he led the Solutions division where he played a key role in commercializing innovative digital services for sports federations and multiple international media organizations while managing the delivery of numerous major sports events worldwide. He also spent several years working as an R&D engineer and project manager for several international groups in telecommunications, media, and broadcasting.

As for his educational background, Teran holds a Master’s degree in Telecommunications and a postgraduate degree in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Texas. He also graduated at ESADE with a Master’s degree in Business Administration and has completed other programs related to innovation at renowned universities and business schools such as MIT, IMD, or Harvard Business School.
