Giants-Packers is NFL Network’s Most-Watched International Series Game on Record

Viewership for Sunday’s game featuring the New York Giants’ 27-22 win over the Green Bay Packers in London was 5.5 million viewers* (TV+Digital) – making it NFL Network’s most-watched International Series game on record (2016-present).

The 5.5 million viewers for Giants-Packers on TV and Digital up +55% versus last year’s Week 5 matchup in London between the New York Jets and Atlanta Falcons.

Digital streaming across NFL digital platforms, Giants and Packers mobile properties, and NFL+ delivered an average minute audience of 299K – up +22% versus Jets-Falcons last year and the highest digital AMA on record for an NFL Network International Series game.

Live NFL games on NFL Network continue this season with the Seattle Seahawks vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, November 13 at 9:30 AM ET from Munich, Germany, a Week 15 Saturday tripleheader on December 18 (matchups to be announced at a later date) and the Las Vegas Raiders at Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday, December 24 at 8:15 PM ET.

Yankees on YES: More than 10 BILLION minutes of game coverage consumed on YES and the YES App in 2022

 More than 10 billion minutes of New York Yankees game coverage was consumed on the YES Network and the YES App during the 2022 regular season, as the network enjoyed its best Yankees season in 11 years.

YES’ 2022 Yankees Highlights:

  • YES averaged 368,000 Total Viewers for its Yankees games in the New York DMA, a 27% year-over-year increase (290,000); this marks YES’ best Yankees season since 2011.
  • YES’ Yankees games averaged more than 694,000 Unduplicated Total Viewers per game.
  • YES’ primetime Yankees games averaged 406,000 Total Viewers, beating the primetime rotation schedules of all other broadcast and cable networks in the New York DMA during the regular season.
  • YES’ primetime Yankees games ranked #1 in the New York DMA in Total Viewers for 32 of 43 consecutive games at the end of the season.
  • Forty-five Yankees games on YES averaged at least 400,000 Total Viewers, vs. nine such games last season.  Eleven games this season averaged at least 500,000 Total Viewers and six averaged at least 600,000 Total Viewers.

  • Nine out of the eleven most-streamed games ever on the YES App occurred in the last four weeks of the 2022 Yankees season

Viewership for ESPN’s Exclusive Coverage of 2022 MLB Wild Card Series Up 64 Percent From 2020 Wild Card Series

Viewership for ESPN’s exclusive coverage of the 2022 MLB Wild Card Series Presented by Hankook Tire was up 64 percent from 2020 – the only other MLB Wild Card Series – according to Nielsen. This year, ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC combined to average 2.8 million viewers across nine games, up from 1.7 million viewers for 18 games in 2020.

Game 3 of the San Diego Padres vs. New York Mets series generated nearly four million viewers (3,961,000), peaking with 4.73 million viewers from 8-8:15 p.m. ET on Sunday, October 9. Additionally, both Games 1 and 2 of the series averaged approximately 3.5 million viewers. The three-game series averaged 3.7 million viewers.

Game 1 of the Philadelphia Phillies vs. St. Louis Cardinals series, which aired exclusively on ABC on the afternoon of Friday, October 7, averaged 3.1 million viewers. The broadcast peaked on ABC with 4.58 million viewers at 5:15 p.m.

On Saturday, October 8, as Game 2 of both the Padres vs. Mets and Phillies vs. Cardinals series were taking place, an average of 6.44 million viewers were watching the games across ESPN and ESPN2  at 10:30 p.m.
