Telemundo, the Spanish-language home of Sunday Night Football, has announced its coverage plans for the 2023 NFL season beginning with the NFL Kickoff 2023 from GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, where Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs will host the Detroit Lions on Thursday, Sept. 7. Telemundo Deportes coverage begins at 8 p.m. ET with tipoff at 8:20 p.m. ET LIVE on Universo and Peacock.

Telemundo Deportes will provide exclusive Spanish-language coverage of the entire NBC Sunday Night Football package with 21 regular season games, including next Thursday’s NFL Kickoff Game. Telemundo Deportes will also present four playoff matchups. All 25 NFL games this season will also be available on live stream via Peacock with two games exclusive to the platform.

Telemundo Deportes introduces Emmy nominated host Ana Jurka as new Sunday Night Football host supporting Emmy-award winning sports journalist and network NFL play-by-play announcer Miguel Gurwitz and Emmy nominated, former Arizona Cardinals offensive lineman Rolando Cantu. Also returning to the network’s NFL coverage is Ariana Figuera serving as sideline analysts and supporting the pre- and post-game studio coverage.

Telemundo’s six thousand-square-foot virtual reality/augmented reality studio at its Miami headquarters will serve as the new home for the network’s 2023 season coverage. Powered by Chyron and with rendering from the Unreal Engine, the virtual set design will feature piero sports graphics for analysis with Cantu ultimately improving storytelling and maximizing communication efficiency. This will offer a broad range of effects such as moveable players, 3D tactical replays and data visualization. Telemundo’s virtual production services team worked with the design from HD Studio, integrating it with the virtual software in-house and augmented reality capabilities.

All games will feature a pre-game show starting at 8 p.m. ET and post-game coverage as well as digital content showcasing the biggest NFL stories, player profiles and interviews, rivalries, social media trends, fans and the lifestyle and culture of NFL among the bicultural Latino fans across Telemundo Deportes platforms and on NFL’s “El Snap.” In addition, leading weekend late-night sports show Zona Mixta will complement the coverage every week with dedicated NFL segments.
