wTVision Provides Augmented Reality Services for the Portugal 2024 GP Judo Event

wTVision technology was used at the Portugal Grand Prix, organised by the International Judo Federation (IJF) and for which the company was also an official sponsor.

wTVision and the Federation have been long-term data integration and broadcast design partners with the aim of showcasing the passion of judo to a wider audience. The Portugal Grand Prix 2024, which took place from January 24th to the 28th in Odivelas, close to Lisbon, was an opportunity to demonstrate the strength of their alliance. wTVision and the IJF presented the live broadcast with latest generation Augmented Reality graphics.

JudoStats CG and the R³ Space Engine rendering system made possible the success of the data integration in real time coupled up with the broadcast data. JudoStats CG was capable of integrating the official data in real time, supervised by on-site experts guaranteeing the accuracy and immediacy of the information. The software combination is the key to the success of the IJF Grand Prix events.

The Augmented Reality graphics also featured the same software combo (JudoStats CG and R³ Space Engine) as well as a tracking system provided by StYpe. The configuration allowed for a perfect data integration in real time, including stats, player information as well as key performance metrics in the Augmented Reality graphics, helping to create an interactive immersive experience.

In addition to judo, wTVision’s proficiency in augmented reality graphics extends to various indoor sports projects, injecting awe and spectacle into enclosed arenas. The broadcast design team played a pivotal role in this venture, adapting the concept and broadcast graphics to an AR environment.
