Diamond Sports Inks One-Year TV Rights Deals With Guardians, Rangers, and Twins

All three teams games will be broadcast on Bally Sports RSNs in 2024

This week, Diamond Sports officially announced one-year deals to continue broadcasting the Cleveland Guardians, Minnesota Twins and Texas Rangers on Bally Sports regional networks this season. The deals became official Friday morning, when Judge Chris Lopez approved the contracts in bankruptcy court. While these deals provide clarity to fans of the three MLB franchises for this season, plans for TV rights in 2025 and beyond remain unclear.

Twins, Diamond Sports Group Extend TV Rights Deal Through 2024

The Minnesota Twins and Diamond Sports Group have finalized an agreement on a one-year extension of the club’s linear broadcast rights through the 2024 season. As a result, all regionally-televised Twins games this year will be produced and distributed by Bally Sports North.

“We value our long-standing partnership with Bally Sports North and are pleased to let our fans know where they can watch Twins baseball in 2024,” said club President & CEO Dave St. Peter. “Our continued collaboration with Bally Sports North’s talented staff and crew will ensure exceptional broadcast coverage of what promises to be a thrilling season for the Twins and our fans. Looking beyond this short-term resolution, the Twins remain fully committed to expanding the reach and accessibility of our telecasts and other team-related content.”

Diamond Sports Group CEO David Preschlack said, “We are pleased to have finalized a renewal that extends our long-standing partnership with the Twins organization on terms that work for both parties.”

Bally Sports North general manager Randy Stephens said, “We look forward to working alongside the Twins to continue delivering quality broadcasts and in-depth coverage supporting the team’s deep connection to its dedicated fans across the region.”

Beginning with the first Bally Sports North production of the 2024 season, fans in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, western Wisconsin and northern Iowa will have the option to watch Twins baseball on television via cable providers such as Comcast Xfinity, Charter Spectrum, MidcoTV and XTREAM Powered by Mediacom, among others; via satellite with DirecTV; or via streaming TV providers like DirecTV Stream and Fubo. Additionally, fans will again have the option to live stream Twins games on the Bally Sports app when they authenticate with their pay TV provider.

The Twins’ full 2024 spring training and regular season broadcast schedule, along with the complete talent lineup joining new television play-by-play voice Cory Provus, will be announced by the club and Bally Sports North in the coming weeks.

Bally Sports Great Lakes to Handle Guardians Game Broadcasts

The Cleveland Guardians and Diamond Sports Group have also finalized an agreement on a one-year deal for the club’s linear broadcast rights through the 2024 season. As a result, all regionally televised Guardians games this year will be produced and distributed by Bally Sports Great Lakes.

“We have finalized an agreement today with Diamond Sports Group for the 2024 season,” said Guardians President of Business Operations Brian Barren. “We are pleased our fans will be able to tune into Bally Sports Great Lakes this season to watch Guardians games.”

David Preschlack said “We are excited to extend our long-standing partnership with the Guardians organization and their fans.”

Bally Sports Great Lakes general manager Randy Stephens said, “We look forward to continuing our partnership with the Guardians and we remain dedicated to delivering quality productions and in-depth coverage to the many passionate fans throughout the region.”

Beginning with the first Bally Sports Great Lakes production of the 2024 season, fans will have the option to watch Guardians baseball on television via cable providers such as Spectrum, Breezeline, Armstrong and Buckeye Broadband; or, via satellite with DirecTV; or via streaming TV providers including DirecTV Stream and Fubo. Additionally, fans will again have the option to live stream Guardians games on the Bally Sports app when they authenticate with their pay TV provider.

The Guardians full 2024 spring training and regular season broadcast schedule, along with the complete talent lineup will be announced by the club and Bally Sports Great Lakes in the coming weeks.

Texas Rangers Ink 2024 linear broadcast agreement with Diamond Sports

The Texas Rangers’ 2024 television broadcast rights have also been finalized and their games will continue to air on Bally Sports Southwest this season.

“With today’s ruling, the Texas Rangers and Diamond Sports have officially finalized their linear broadcast rights deal for the 2024 season. We are happy to have an agreement in place and look forward to partnering with Bally Sports Southwest for what should be a very exciting year for our club. At the same time, we will continue to work for ways to enhance and expand how our fans will be able to view Texas Rangers baseball in the future.”

Bally Sports Southwest will produce and air 153 regular-season Rangers games, plus four spring training games. In addition, the Bally Sports app and BallySports.com will also provide streaming service for Rangers games and other Rangers-related programming for fans who sign in and authenticate through their pay-TV provider.

Rangers lead television play-by-play voice Dave Raymond returns for his eighth season with the club, and Jared Sandler will provide television play-by-play for select games. Sandler is in his 10th season as a member of the radio broadcast team. To replace former lead analyst C.J. Nitkowski, who left the club to do Atlanta Braves games, a trio of former Rangers players will fill the role, including pitcher Mike Bacsik Jr. (2nd year), outfielder David Murphy (6th year) and catcher Dave Valle (3rd year). Emily Jones and Lesley McCaslin return as in-game reporters.
