‘March Madness Live’ Adds Vertical Video Feed, Apple Vision Pro Compatibility to Live Streaming Experience

The streaming-exclusive whiparound show returns for the first and second rounds beginning March 21

March Madness Live is thinking outside the box this year in providing hoops fans with new ways to watch the 2024 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship. In addition to the launch of a vertical video feed featuring short-form content, the March Madness Live streaming platform is now compatible with Apple Vision Pro.

Live games can be viewed via March Madness Live on the new Apple Vision Pro headset.

New this year, March Madness Live app users can consume a short-form feed of vertical videosThe bite-sized narratives include must-see moments, trending clips and legendary performances that capture the essence of March Madness moments all with an easy left or right swipe.

NCAA March Madness Live, managed by TNT Sports in partnership with the NCAA and CBS Sports, is now available to download across 19 platforms, including new this year, Apple Vision Pro compatibility.  With Vision Pro, fans will have access to all live games, events, exclusive video-on-demand content and more.

Along with enhanced viewing experiences and the best moments from the game, fans can follow in real-time the journey of the perfect bracket with the Perfect Bracket Tracker Widget. Once the Tournament starts, fans can follow the journey of all the remaining perfect brackets to see how every game impacts the quest for the first-ever perfect bracket.  In addition to the perfect bracket tracker, the NCAA Bracket Challenge Game returns for both Men and Women’s Tournament, where fans can play against their favorite celebrities in featured groups.

Fans will have access to all games airing live on TBS, TNT and truTV by logging in with their TV service provider credentials.  NCAA March Madness Live will offer a limited preview period giving fans access to live game streaming before login is required. Following the preview period, March Madness Live users will need to login with their TV service provider credentials for uninterrupted viewing of the NCAA Tournament. Additionally, Max B/R Sports Add-On users will need to login with Max credentials to continue to stream.

Fast Break presented by AT&T and Nissan returns on March 21 to give whip-around coverage of each contest live and in real-time. Fast Break will be available when there are multiple games being played during the first two rounds of the tournament.

TNT Sports and CBS Sports will provide live coverage of all 67 games from the 2024 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship across four national television networks – TBS, CBS, TNT and truTV – and NCAA March Madness Live. Games airing on TBS, TNT and truTV will also stream live on Max’s B/R Sports Add-On, while games airing on CBS will also stream live on Paramount+.

TBS will televise the Division I Men’s Final Four, beginning with the Division I Men’s National Semifinals on Saturday, April 6, and then the Division I Men’s National Championship on Monday, April 8, from Phoenix.

TNT Sports’ Bleacher Report and CBS Sports Digital platforms will also provide wall-to-wall coverage of the games across social.  Fans can also access all Tournament games via live streaming on TBS, CBS, TNT and truTV’s digital platforms, as well as participating TV provider websites and apps.

NCAA March Madness Live additional highlights include:

Multi-Game Viewing

The fan favorite multi-game viewing feature returns offering fans – via desktop – the ability to stream up to four games at once. Along with multi-game viewing, “excitement alerts” return instantly notifying fans of close games and upsets and taking them directly into the live game action.

Live Activities / Live Updates Widgets

Fans can also stay connected to game updates directly from their phone lock screen with the live activity/update widget. A game-specific live activity/update will appear on the lock screen for both upcoming and live games, offering score updates and matchup information at-a-glance. Tapping on the notification will take fans directly into the corresponding Game Center. New this year, the live scoreboard – available via iOS – will offer fans a way to follow scores when multiple games are being played. This feature can be accessed on the Scores page beginning March 21. 

Expanded Features for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

For fans on-the-go, NCAA March Madness Live will keep them in the know with expanded live game radio for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Live radio broadcasts are courtesy of Westwood One for all 67 games.

Bracket Challenge and Games

The NCAA March Madness Men’s Bracket Challenge presented by Capital One will return to NCAA March Madness Live along with the NCAA March Madness Women’s Bracket Challenge presented by Capital One available on play.ncaa.com. Both games will be supported with the 2024 Bracket Challenge Sweepstakes, which will reward one lucky player from each game with a trip for two to the 2025 Final Four.

Fans can also play NCAA March Madness Men’s Tournament Run allowing them to stay in the game long after their brackets bust. Tournament Run will allow users to pick a lineup of five teams that change value based on performance. In each round, users can trade teams to tweak their lineups. The lineup with the highest value at the end of the Tournament wins.

Bracket IQ

Serving as the hub for best-in-class content and tools for fans to create their best brackets, Bracket IQ includes the Matchup Analysis tool, allowing fans to choose from a selection of stats to guide or automate their bracket picking experience for both Men’s and Women’s Bracket Challenges. Additionally, ahead of the Sweet 16, Bracket Challenge players can gain extra insight with Path to the Championship. With this tool, fans can examine every possible scenario for the bracket to get a breakdown of which team has the best possible chance of advancing.
