Mike Helling, Longtime FOX Sports and Regional Sports Producer, Dies at 65
He led regional broadcasts for both the Colorado Rockies and St. Louis Cardinals during his career

Mike Helling, a long-time producer for FOX Sports and several regional sports networks, passed away on Sunday night after for suffering a stroke a number of years ago. He was 65.
A Multi-Emmy award winning producer for Bally Sports Regional Networks (previously Fox Sports Regional Networks), Helling was widely respected in the industry for over 20 years
While Helling produced a variety of regional and nationals sports broadcasts over the years, he was most passionate about producing Major League Baseball. At various times throughout his career, he led regional broadcasts for both the Colorado Rockies and St. Louis Cardinals.
In addition, Helling produced seasons for the NBA’s Denver Nuggets and Sacramento Kings, plus a multitude of college football and basketball games over the years.
Ron Gralnik, VP, Production, Bally Sports, summed up the industry’s view of its beloved colleague in saying, “He made those he worked with better.”
Helling loved the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs and was a die-hard fan of his alma mater the Kansas Jayhawks. He is survived by his wife Carla, daughter Aubrey, son Nick and four grandchildren.
