CBS Sports to Kick Off New Deal With NWSL, Highlighted by Most Matches on Broadcast TV in League’s History

CBS Sports kicked off its coverage of the 2024 National Women’s Soccer League season on April 20 as the Washington Spirit host NJ/NY Gotham FC at 1 PM, ET on CBS. The match was streamed live to Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers.

Chris Wittyngham and Lori Lindsey called the match, while Poppy Miller hosted studio coverage alongside analysts Darian Jenkins and Brianna Scurry. In addition to match coverage on CBS and Paramount+, CBS Sports Golazo Network featured pregame coverage from 11 AM-12 PM, ET.

Studio analysts for the 2024 season will include Jenkins, Scurry, Shannon Boxx, Lisa Carlin and Lianne Sanderson.

Match announcers for the season will include Wittyngham, Lindsey, Jordan Angeli, Jacqui Oatley, Kate Scott and Aly Trost Martin, with Christina Unkel as rules analyst. Additional match and studio announcers will be revealed at a later date.

Saturday’s match marked CBS Sports’ first game of the network’s new deal with the NWSL. The NWSL’s 2024 slate is highlighted by the most matches on broadcast television in the league’s history. The partnership will see CBS Sports air up to 12 matches per season on CBS and Paramount+, including multiple postseason matches and highlighted by the Championship match. CBS Sports Network will televise up to 10 matches each year.

The 2024 NWSL Championship will air on CBS and stream live on Paramount+ in primetime for the third straight year on Saturday, Nov. 23.

In addition to CBS Sports’ coverage of live matches, CBS Sports Golazo Network, the 24/7 soccer streaming network, will continue to provide extensive NWSL coverage on its dedicated women’s soccer show ATTACKING THIRD, alongside its other studio programming MORNING FOOTY, BOX 2 BOX and SCORELINE. CBS Sports will provide additional NWSL coverage on CBSSports.com, the Golazo Starting XI newsletter and across its @AttackingThird social accounts.
