Metus INGEST Software Integrates Matrox M264 Codec Cards

Metus INGEST video capture, transcoding, and streaming software now supports the complete range of Matrox M264 codec cards for 4K XAVC-based, live production workflows. Leveraging Matrox M264’s 4K XAVC encoding and decoding support, Metus INGEST can now deliver exceptional encode/decode performance while providing up to four channels of 4K XAVC recording using PC-based solutions.

“Metus is dedicated to accelerating today’s demanding workflows so that the broadcast industry can get better and more efficient content production,” says Mustafa Yilmaz, managing director at Metus. “The Matrox M264 cards have essentially equipped the Metus INGEST system with immediate multi-channel XAVC encoding/decoding functionality, ultimately helping production teams deliver the best news stories and live events coverage possible.”

The Metus INGEST and Matrox M264 collaboration provide instant density support for 4K XAVC broadcast contribution, production, and distribution workflows. Designed specifically for multi-channel encoding/decoding, M264 single-slot cards provide up to four high-quality 4Kp60 streams of XAVC 4K Intra Class 300/480 or XAVC 4K Long 4:2:2—in real-time with zero CPU usage—in the smallest footprint possible.

“Our Metus INGEST integration with the Matrox M264 cards is another step forward in our continuous commitment to always deliver leading innovations for robust, multi-channel, high-quality, next-generation transcoding solutions,” said Olga Ivanovska, sales director at Metus.

“Matrox Video is pleased to be working alongside Metus to ensure the INGEST software and Matrox M264 hardware combination offers broadcasters a cutting-edge XAVC platform,” said Francesco Scartozzi, VP of sales and business development, Broadcast and Media Group at Matrox Video. “The 4K XAVC density, quality, and performance from the M264 cards provide game-changing possibilities for the most demanding real-time production workflows, all via a standard PC platform.”
