NAB 2023: VidOvation VidOlink Reacher II Family of Wireless Camera Links Wins the NAB 2023 Product of the Year Award

The VidOlink Reacher II family of wireless video and audio transmitters and receivers received the NAB 2023 Product of the Year Award.

The VidOlink Reacher II family is used for video production applications where it is impossible or impractical to run cables and wires or where cables would hinder. Besides offering high performance at a low cost, the VidOlink Reacher family delivers high picture quality, uses industry-standard power and video interfaces, and provides a simple setup with plug-and-play operation. The wide range of features across the product line offers solutions for everything from broadcasting and film production to corporate, military, and houses of worship applications.

The VidOlink Reacher II is a new family of low-cost professional wireless video and audio transmitters and receivers for video production applications where it is impossible or impractical to run cables and wires or where cables would be a hindrance.

“There are more and more applications, from full-on professional broadcasting and sports broadcasting to pro AV, where laying down cable runs has become inefficient, impractical, cost-prohibitive, or in some cases just physically impossible,” says Jim Jachetta, executive vice president and chief technology officer, VidOvation. “Our new Reacher II family opens up many possibilities to deliver quality productions across various applications.”

The family currently includes six models: the VidOlink Reacher II 600, 2300, 2500, 4000, 4200, and the VidOlink Reacher II Quad. All models support video resolutions up to 1080p60 and feature zero latency in line-of-site transmission. The VidOlink Reacher II 600 is suitable for applications requiring relatively short distance video and audio transmissions, up to 600 feet. The 2300 and 4000 models support audio and video transmission and extend the distance to 2,300 feet and 4,000 feet, respectively. In addition to audio and video transmission, models 2500 and 4200 add intercom and tally at affordable costs, with distances of 2,500 feet and 4,200 feet. The final member of the Reacher II family, the Quad, comprises four small transmitters with a 1,600-foot range, one for each camera in the production setup and one receiver that can be positioned in the control room. The Quad is designed as a more cost-effective alternative to employing four Reacher II 2300s.

“All in all, the VidOlink Reacher II family delivers the most comprehensive quality-for-the-price wireless solutions of anything else on the market,” says Jachetta
