SVG SportsTech On Demand: Microsoft's Scott Bounds on How Azure Cloud Is Fueling Remote Production Workflows

Our Jason Dachman sat down with Scott Bounds, Media Cloud Architect, Microsoft, about the company’s efforts.
In this interview, Bounds discusses how Microsoft is responding to the coronavirus pandemic’s impact on the Media & Entertainment Industry. Microsoft is working to enable cloud-based editing for its media customers to enable editors and producers to create content from home. Microsoft Azure Cloud is enabling several key vendors – including Avid, Teradici, Beebop, Stratuscore – to provide collaborative remote solutions to media companies looking to keep content production going during these challenging times.
In addition, The NBA and Microsoft recently unveiled a new multiyear deal in which Microsoft will become the Official Artificial Intelligence Partner and an Official Cloud and Laptop Partner for the NBA, WNBA, NBA G League, and USA Basketball beginning with the 2020-21 NBA season. Microsoft and NBA Digital (co-managed by the NBA and Turner Sports) will create a new direct-to-consumer platform on Microsoft Azure that will use machine learning and AI to deliver personalized game broadcasts and other content offerings.
