CONCACAF Teams Up With Encompass to Digitize Video Footage Archive

Encompass Digital Media teamed up with the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) to digitize the Confederation’s video footage archive within a custom-built, state-of-the-art archiving suite located in the company’s Atlanta facility. Encompass will also provide and manage downlink services of over 700 football matches within the region.

“The integration with Encompass provides the Confederation with a sophisticated platform to efficiently manage, produce and distribute content to our broadcast partners of all our competitions including Gold Cup and the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League as well as to our fans via social media,” says Acting General Secretary, Ted Howard. “The game of football within our region is full of rich history and this partnership sets the beginning of an immense project to digitally preserve memorable moments of our sport for current and future generations to enjoy.”

PrintCONCACAF selected Encompass after following a thorough and successful Request for Proposal (RFP) process.

Encompass’ media asset management (MAM) and storage area network (SAN) services allow the Confederation to access, edit, preserve, manage, and redistribute a high-quality product in a protective environment. Encompass’ dedicated staff also records and prepares the CONCACAF matches for handoff to live-stream encoders and social syndication.

“Encompass is honored to be a part of CONCACAF’s monumental step to preserve the 55-year history of its prominent brand,” says Jim Schuster, Executive Vice President and President Encompass Atlanta. “Providing a reliable archive arsenal for the Confederation to easily share assets on a daily basis is imperative to not only sustaining the popularity of this worldwide sport but is also important to continuing its growth.”
