Mercedes-Benz Stadium Taps David Duernberger to Lead Stadium Operations

Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the future home of the National Football League’s Atlanta Falcons and Major League Soccer’s Atlanta United, has hired David Duernberger as director of stadium operations.

AtlantaDuernberger, reporting to Scott Jenkins, general manager, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, will be responsible for the management and direction of the engineering, technical services and building services functions for the stadium.  He will be instrumental in creating a sustainable, safe, and fan-friendly environment.  In addition to overseeing the operations of the physical building, he will also oversee the building automation systems, equipment, stadium field and exterior grounds maintenance.

A well-respected veteran in the industry, Duernberger brings over 30 years of experience in all aspects of facility management adding significant contributions in areas of sustainability, technology and innovation.  Duernberger came to Mercedes-Benz Stadium from MetLife Stadium, home of the NFL’s New York Giants and New York Jets, where he served as vice president of facility operations overseeing facility operations, broadcast/media and audio/visual services.  Before joining MetLife Stadium, Duernberger oversaw facilities for Lincoln Financial Field, the home to the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles as well as Miller Park, the home of the Milwaukee Brewers.
