LiveU Partners With ‘The Mashable Show’ Live From SXSW

Mashable will be producing and hosting a three-day live-stream event from the famous Mashable House at SXSW this weekend. “The Mashable Show,” powered by LiveU technology, gives online viewers a unique look at SXSW through exclusive interviews, live music, and comedy performances on Twitter. The live production will be built around viewer engagement, integrating live Twitter conversations, polls, questions, and audience posts from the social platform into the programming.

BMG will be working in tandem with the Mashable team on the high-energy, 90-minute show airing March 10, 11, and 12 live from the Mashable House at SXSW at 1:00 p.m. ET/10:00 a.m. PT each day. The streams will be available worldwide to logged-in and logged-out audiences on Twitter and connected devices.

“SXSW is the most highly anticipated event of the year and not everyone can get to Austin for this immersion of tech and entertainment,” says Claudia Barbiero, VP, marketing, Americas, LiveU. “Our collaboration with BMG and Mashable brings viewers to the heart of SXSW in real time so they can enjoy all the amazing people and performances scheduled to rock the city of Austin.”

With the help of three LiveU portable transmission units, the BMG team will be producing high-quality streams featuring live interviews from the Mashable House, as well as remote activities around Austin.unnamed-2

“The digital space is exploding right now, and everyone wants to do live production,” says Todd Mason, CEO, Broadcast Management Group. “Live streaming offers the ability for audiences to engage and experience SXSW. LiveU gives us the flexibility to go anywhere and maintain a reliable, quality stream.”

The live show will be hosted by Mashable Executive Editor Jessica Coen, Mashable Social Editor Tracey Edouard, comedy writer and performer Kerri Doherty, and everyone’s favorite cookie-obsessed Sesame Street resident, Cookie Monster.

“Mashable’s young and tech-savvy audience will have access to the people and performances that make SXSW such an influential event. Viewers will get the opportunity to interact with Mashable editors and guests and feel like they are in Austin,” says Mason.
