Upstage Video LED Screen at Center of 2017 Bassmaster Classic

It’s every angler’s dream to compete in The “Super Bowl of Bass Fishing,” otherwise known as The Bassmaster Classic. Professional bass anglers from all over the world convened on Lake Conroe from March 24-26  for a three-day fishing competition to earn the top spot, a $300,000 cash prize, and an international world title. At the conclusion of each day, contestants and their fish returned to Minute Maid Park in Houston for weigh-in. All fish are required to meet a minimum length of 12 in., must be alive at the time of weigh-in, and must be released back into the lake. The entire event, from the lake to weigh-in festivities received hours of televised coverage from multiple sports networks, including ESPN.

Upstage Video provided the LED screen for the 2017 Bassmaster Classic weigh-in at Minute Maid Park in Houston.

For the first time in the competition’s 47-year history, the world championship of bass fishing was held in Houston. A large stage erected in left field at Minute Maid Park featured Upstage Video’s 32- x 22-ft. LED screen comprising 193 ROE 7-mm tiles; the top of the screen displayed a replica of the city’s skyline. The company recently added d3 2x4pro’s to its media-server inventory, deploying them for the screens’ primary playback and control systems.

“We appreciate the opportunity to work with entire team at Production Support Group,” says Brian Tyson, national sales director, Upstage Video, “and look forward to the event, year after year.”
