Seven Brewers among All-Star voting leaders 100,000 Votes Cast Already

Milwaukee Brewers and New York Mets are the only National League teams with at
least seven players listed among the leaders in the first announced voting
totals for this year’s All-Star squad. Vote totals were announced by Major League Baseball.

Prince Fielder (1B) and J.J. Hardy (SS) both rank second at their positions,
while Rickie Weeks (2B) and Johnny Estrada (3B) rank third. Bill Hall, Geoff
Jenkins and Corey Hart all rank in the top 15 among outfielders.

The team
has mounted a “Vote Brewers!” campaign to spur the effort, and fans
who vote are eligible to win unique prizes. More than 100,000 votes have been
cast by Brewers fans at the Miller Park All-Star Polling District at the
ballpark’s Home Plate Gate. Anyone voting 10 or more times through games of
June 19 will be eligible for a prize drawing at each game. Winners will receive
items such as authentic game-used jerseys and autographed memorabilia.
