wTVision, a developer and integrator of broadcast software, is packaging SporTVU’s on-air real-time graphics object tracking system to give soccer fans in Portugal, Spain, and Belgium new insight into their favorite sport.

“wTVision strategy has always been to develop and integrate break-through technologies with the goal of creating added-value to our solutions, to the benefit of our customers,” says M rio Sousa, CEO wTVision. “By integrating SportVU with our own technology, we will be offering an added-value to our standard on-air graphics soccer solutions.”

SportVU’s tracking technology enables soccer fans watching on television or mobile devices to see player and ball positions. “SporTVU technology uses three Hi-Res cameras that tracks players and ball positions, providing X, Y and Z coordinates and positions for all players, 15 times per second,” says Tom s Meneses, wTVision, marketing & communication director.

Player speeds, accumulated distances and player fatigue are graphics can all be displayed in real time. Sponsorship ads can also be implemented. Cameras can be located inside the stadium, or can be connected to the computers in production trucks.

“The best assets are real time data feed, light configuration in terms of hardware, fast set-up with only one operator and a portable configuration,” adds Sousa.
