AT&T Adds Wireless Network to Beaver Stadium

AT&T is
providing college football fans this season with expanded wireless network
capacity at
Penn
State’s Beaver Stadium with the
deployment of a Cell Site on Wheels (COW).

T he supplemental coverage has
been added to address a significant increase in wireless traffic expected in
and around one of the nation’s largest college football venues.
“Over
100,000 spectators are expected to descend upon Beaver Stadium to cheer the Nittany
Lions each game this year,” said Dan Lafond, vice president and general
manager of AT&T’s wireless division in central and eastern
Pennsylvania. “We
want students and the scores of alumni traveling from out-of-state to have a
great experience every time they make a phone call, send a text message or read
an e-mail on the AT&T network.”
