Linear Acoustic Creates Three Field-App Engineering Posts

Linear Acoustic has created of three new field-applications engineer positions to manage territories across the U.S. The new team will be responsible for developing, supporting, and managing direct accounts in individual regions.

All positions will report directly to Christina Carroll, who has been promoted from director of operations to VP of sales and marketing. Additionally, to further strengthen the team, Don Cardone has been promoted to Linear Acoustic’s director of business development for North, South, and Central Americas and Mexico.

Heading up West Coast operations, Lon Neumann brings more than 20 years of industry experience to his new role. He was formerly at Enders & Associates, where he served as an independent manufacturers’ representative for 25 HDTV broadcast lines. Previously, he was western manager of field operations for Sony’s Super Audio CD Project, successfully preparing more than 100 albums for world-class artists and producers and winning engineering credits for two Grammy Award-nominated albums. Prior to Sony, Neumann served as production sound engineer at Warner Bros. Pictures, where he was responsible for production sound installations for hit series
Murphy Brown and
Designing Women.

Joining Linear Acoustic as Midwest field engineer is Hal Buttermore, who brings more than 30 years of broadcast-engineering experience, including major facility design and construction, studio-systems installation, and transmitter and antenna project design and management. Buttermore has held positions as director of engineering for Cap Cities/ABC/Disney Detroit and market engineering manager at CBS, where he managed construction of digital studios and rollout of new technologies, such as streaming, multicasting, and the conversion of six stations to HD transmission. He is currently traveling the Midwestern states as part of Linear Acoustic’s DTV Audio Myth Busters Tour, educating broadcasters on how to make the upcoming 2009 digital transition easy, effective, and cost efficient.

Linear Acoustic also has brought on Roger Cucci as East Coast field-applications engineer. Cucci has more than 25 years of experience in television production, studio operations, facility design, and systems integration. He was previously chief engineer for Music Choice, where he was responsible for setting audio, video, and editing standards for VOD content in addition to establishing a digital archive for the company’s media assets. Prior to Music Choice, Cucci was a technical manager at NBC for 12 years, working on
Saturday Night Live, which he helped make the transition to HDTV;
Nightly News With Tom Brokaw; NBC Sports, including Super Bowl XXXII, the AFC Championships, and the NBA Finals; he also worked on
The Rosie O’Donnell Show, winning a Technical Emmy Award in 2000-01. Cucci also has served as technical manager for Fox News Channel, production manager for
A Current Affair, and operations manager for the FX Cable Channel.
