Cablevision Makes 3-D History With Hockey Game Broadcast

By Michael Silbergleid

What’s wrong with this headline? “Cablevision Makes 3-D History With Hockey Game Broadcast.” Nothing really, since we don’t know what history was being made. So let’s look at the part of the tease: “Cablevision broadcast the first 3-D television program in the U.S. on Wednesday night.”

Well, we all know that’s not right. Or is it?

How about the lead: “Cablevision broadcast the first high-def 3-D television program in the U.S. Wednesday night, a hockey game from Madison Square Garden.”

Is this right? Surely other 3D HD programs have been broadcast? Right?
