NAB 2011: Telestream Takes Ad-Vantage of Anystream Acquisition
Telestream heads to its first NAB Show since acquiring Anystream last year. As part of the acquisition, Telestream will feature Agility 2G and Avalon products integrated into its Vantage video-workflow design and automation software at its booth.
Agility 2G and Avalon address multiplatform content-syndication issues, including standards conversion, video streaming, subtitling, and watermarking. Agility 2G is enterprise-class video-production and -management software, and Avalon provides metadata ingest, creation, and packaging to automate the publishing of video to multiple outlets and devices. At NAB, Telestream will demonstrate new features in its Vantage software, including full integration with Agility and new transcoding and workflow-management capabilities.
“We’re taking the strengths and capabilities of Agility and blending them with the strengths and capabilities of Vantage to enhance the Vantage architecture,” says Telestream VP of Marketing Barbara DeHart. “One of the strengths of Vantage is very deep format support and a tremendous amount of direct SDK-level integration with third-party systems. And when we look at the Agility workflow, they have features that make large deployments more easily managed and controlled. At NAB, we will bring some of those control and management capabilities into the Vantage architecture so that you get a blend of both worlds.”
In addition, the new Vantage Workflow Portal enables streamlined creation and deployment of user interfaces for browsing video, entering metadata, and forwarding media. The new SDK simplifies Vantage integration into existing software systems using a Web-services interface. New GraphicsFactory integration allows template-based layered graphics and audio to be applied during a transcode. Also new is aspect-ratio identification for MXF, GXF, and LXF files. Vantage is built on a modular platform that allows users to develop customized workflows that include video capture, transcoding, analysis, metadata processing, and delivery.
Telestream will also debut Wirecast Pro live Webcasting software and showcase its Pipeline, Episode 6, and FlipFactory applications on the NAB floor.
