Broadcast Sports, Inc. Moves UK Office, Hires Product Sales Director

Broadcast Sports Inc. (BSI), a provider of RF technology for the broadcast industry, has recently moved its office to a new location in Watford, UK. BSI, which is based in the U.S., opened its first UK office in Fall 2011. The company’s new 840 square meter office, located at Axis 3, Rhodes Way, will accommodate BSI’s growing rental business and its recently launched product sales division.

Broadcast Sports, Inc. provides turn-key rental of wireless broadcast equipment including RF camera links, microphones, communications devices and specialty cameras. This turn-key service includes equipment plus trained technicians and on-site technical support throughout a show. The new office space will allow BSI’s rental business to offer a wider array of equipment for hire and to develop new technologies based on the specific needs of individual customers.

“We’re really happy with our new location,” explains BSI’s Technical Director Tony Valentino. “The additional space we now have will allow us to grow our inventory so we can support our customers on more levels.”

In the short time since BSI has opened its office in the UK, the company has worked on a number of high profile events including the London 2012 Olympics, Formula 1, Welsh Premier League football, Quicksilver Pro France surfing competition and Speedway Great Britain. BSI also offers wireless broadcast equipment for dry hire.

Sharing the new office space is BSI’s product sales division which includes a team of engineers dedicated to research and development, a manufacturing department, customer service, sales and marketing. BSI is set to release their first product line, a state-of-the-art, next generation camera link system called Real Freedom, later this year. The company recently hired Lee Norton as Product Sales Director to spearhead the effort. Lee joins BSI from EADS and brings extensive experience in the sale of satellite and broadcast technologies to the team. He specializes in targeted market entry and high-tech product roll-out.

“This is the first time in BSI’s 30 year history of developing and deploying RF technologies for the broadcast industry that the company will sell one of its products,” says Norton. “It’s an exciting time to be a part of this innovative organization and I look forward to bringing this product line to market.”

BSI will be giving a preview of the Real Freedom product line in April at NAB. The BSI booth will be located in Hall C, booth #C11449.
