Ole Miss Productions Integrates with Ross Video’s Sports Workflows

Ole Miss Productions has adopted Ross Video’s Vision Switcher and XPression Real-Time Motion Graphics Systems for simultaneously producing in-game scoreboard production and streaming network broadcasts.

The Vision 2.5 MLE  Switcher with integrated MultiViewers allows for one Technical Director to automate the switching two complex shows simultaneously.

“Not only does the Ross Vision Switcher deliver, but it delivers with even more power and flexibility than we were first aware of. Truthfully, ‘amazing’ doesn’t even come close,” said Shane Sanford, Manager of Creative Services, Ole Miss Sports Productions.

On one channel of XPression, Ole Miss automates the Score Bug, introductions, animated Transitions, full Screens, lower thirds and replay burn bugs for their streaming broadcast production. The second channel of XPression runs an alternate graphics look for the in house scoreboard display. Ole Miss Productions leverage the XPression Datalinq server to connect Daktronics for clock and score, as well as Stats Crew for statistics.

“For anyone who has ever worked with an .xml file from StatCrew, they know that the individual player information bounces all over the file and is never in the same place – with XPression the ability to search query a StatCrew is time saving,” says Sanford. “With pretty much a click of the a mouse, the sky is the limit to what we can produce out of our control room.”
