Haivision Media Gateway Lowers Costs for Multi-Site Video Backhaul, Distribution
Also at ISE 2015, Haivision announced a new video streaming solution – the Haivision Media Gateway – bringing broadcasters, enterprises and multi-site ministries a cost-effective alternative to satellite or MPLS networks for live video transport. Haivision Media Gateway allows organizations to aggregate and replicate live, HD streams concurrently to and from remote locations, over any network.

Powered by Haivision’s SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) technology, the Haivision Media Gateway allows organizations to aggregate and replicate live, HD streams concurrently to and from remote locations, over any network. SRT optimizes streaming performance across unpredictable networks by ensuring packet loss recovery, stream security, and network health monitoring.

With the Haivision Media Gateway, users can convert streams to and from SRT and standard MPEG Transport Stream (TS), TS for video distribution within a LAN and SRT for transport over WAN. Users can also Aggregate streams from multiple facilities to one central location for live backhaul and broadcast monitoring. In addition, users can replicate a live stream from a central location and distribute it to multiple facilities over public and private networks.

Broadcast Backhaul
The Haivision Media Gateway allows broadcasters to harvest live video content from multiple remote production venues, aggregating SRT streams and re-distributing the streams as TS within a central production venue.

Multi-Site Ministry Video Distribution
The Haivision Media Gateway’s ability to replicate SRT streams (one to many) and distribute them over private and public networks allows multi-site faith organizations to bring together remote congregations with live, HD video.

Enterprise Distribution
Whether connecting offices from New York to London for an all hands meeting, product launch or important announcement, the Haivision Media Gateway allows multi-site enterprises to bridge remote locations for live, high quality, secure video distribution over public and private networks.

“Today’s world is driven by collaboration, communication, and in broadcast, the quest for more content at less cost,” said Peter Maag, Haivision’s CMO. “The Haivision Media Gateway brings together remote audiences and video operations with all of the quality of dedicated circuits at a fraction of the cost.”
