Germany’s TV Skyline Chooses Grass Valley For New OB Van

Germany’s TV Skyline has chosen Grass Valley gear to help power its newest OB van. TV Skyline purchased an NVISION 8576 3G hybrid routing system in a 576×1152 frame with 549 inputs and 922 outputs, a large Kaleido Modular and Kaleido MX multiviewer system able to monitor up to 448 different sources on 112 displays including 4K/UHD, four high-density LUMO frames with more than 100x 3G-SDI to fiber and fiber to 3G-SDI converters, and an LDX 86 Universe 4K/UHD and XtremeSpeed-capable fiber camera system.77686_GrassValley_Logo_2c_BAs one of the largest OB van companies in Germany, TV Skyline has been serving clients with a full range of on-site broadcast services for more than 20 years. Every Kaleido multiviewer is designed to expand and interoperate seamlessly into any workflow, saving space and lowering overall costs with common control systems, display layout tools and extensive router integration that help streamline workflows and simplify operations.
  • The LDX 86 Universe camera is a 4K/6X HD switchable camera setting new standards in 4K acquisition and offering format flexibility with the same high sensitivity and dynamic range performance in all formats at the same workflow speed. The LDX 86 Universe can be used in any camera position where a 1X, 3X or 6X camera is required. This includes the ability to switch the camera from 4K 1X operation to HD 6X extreme-speed operation—providing unprecedented coverage of multiple camera applications, all from a single camera.

TV Skyline is putting the new van into service this month.
