NeuLion, PBA Ink Extension for Xtra Frame Streaming Service

The Professional Bowlers Association and NeuLion, its partner in production of PBA’s online video streaming service, Xtra Frame, have announced a renewal of an agreement that has been in place since 2010, and another series of upgrades and enhancements. Effective immediately, the all-new Xtra Frame service includes a brand new look and design for desktop users along with other enhancements that will improve the viewership experience for PBA’s steadily-growing fan base who use mobile devices to watch the action while they are on the go.

Professional_Bowlers_Association_Logo.svgThe upgrades are in place as the PBA Tour heads into a three-event series of major championship tournaments, all of which will include extensive live coverage of qualifying and match play rounds leading into their ESPN finals.

Xtra Frame is available on desktop, Android and iOS platforms. Subscribers can enjoy high-quality video playback of exclusive content along with interactive features at home and on the go. The upgraded service features all new mobile and tablet apps, as well as faster access to event replays. The enhanced service also includes a more advanced HD video player featuring “slow motion” capability that fans can control, along with the bbility for fans to share with friends and other bowling fans via social media.

Current subscribers will have access to the new website, but mobile device users may have to delete the old app and download the new app, at no cost.

Subscribers will experience the new Xtra Frame features beginning with live coverage of the Grand Casino Hotel & Resort Southwest Open Saturday and Sunday, beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. ET Sunday. The regional event also is the qualifying tournament for 38 players to advance to the FireLake PBA Tournament of Champions beginning Tuesday at FireLake Bowling Center in Shawnee, Okla.

Following the regional, Xtra Frame will cover the PBA Hall of Fame induction ceremonies Monday beginning at 8 p.m. ET, and then will cover Tournament of Champions qualifying and match play Tuesday Feb. 2 through Friday, Feb. 5 with PBA Hall of Famer Marshall Holman helping to call the action. ESPN will air the TOC finals live on Sunday, Feb. 7 at 2 p.m. ET (1 p.m. CT) from the FireLake Arena.
