MSG Networks Adds Kevin Marotta as SVP, Marketing and Content Strategy, Promotes Melissa Karten to VP, Marketing

MSG Networks has added Kevin Marotta as senior vice president of marketing and content strategy and elevated Melissa Karten to vice president of marketing. 

msghiresAs senior vice president of marketing and content strategy, Marotta will oversee all on and off-air marketing and promotional activities of MSG Networks brands, as well as the development, integration and implementation of cross platform content strategies. He will work closely with programming, digital and advertising sales to identify client specific integrated marketing and branded entertainment opportunities. Marotta will report to Andrea Greenberg, president and chief executive officer, MSG Networks.

Kevin Marotta joins MSG Networks after three years as vice president of client partnerships for LeadDog Marketing where he led all business development efforts for the 180+ person integrated marketing agency, from creative oversight and concept development to building new client relationships. Prior to joining LeadDog, Kevin spent eight years at The Madison Square Garden Company in numerous roles, most recently as vice president of corporate strategy where he managed non-architectural design elements across The Garden’s three-year, billion-dollar transformation including presence of the signature partners within the building as well as mixed media installations that paid homage to The Garden’s rich history.

Marotta received his MBA from New York University and his BA from Tufts University. He lives in South Orange, New Jersey with his wife Maggie and children Charlie, Beatrix, and Penelope.

Melissa Karten, previously director of strategy and integrated marketing, has been a valuable member of the marketing team and has been instrumental in setting strategy and working on the last two Fall Campaigns: United We Watch and Be Yourself Every Game. In her new role as vice president, marketing, Karten will oversee all aspects of MSG Networks marketing; from traditional to digital marketing and social media. Karten will continue to develop and implement strategic marketing plans for MSG Networks and direct and manage all consumer branding and messaging. Prior to MSG Networks, Karten spent two years at Fuse as the director of consumer marketing. She was previously Group Program Director for Moxie Interactive and Executive Producer at Deep Focus working with an array of clients from L’Oreal, HBO, Hearst, ESPN, Comcast, and many others. Karten will report to Marotta.
