CABSAT 2018: TVU Networks to Showcase Variety of IP Video Solutions

TVU Networks (Booth ZB5-C11) will showcase its latest IP video solutions at next week’s CABSAT show (Jan 14-16, Dubai World Trade Center), including the TVU One with HEVC mobile newsgathering solution, TVU RPS (Remote Production System), TVU MLink for satellite and microwave vehicles and TVU Grid video distribution, routing and switching system.

The TVU One with HEVC mobile IP newsgathering transmitter uses both HEVC video compression and TVU’s patented Inverse Statmux Plus (IS+) transmission algorithm to transmit HD quality video with half-second latency even in a moving vehicle. Weighing just 2.2 pounds/1 kilogram, TVU One with HEVC offers a robust set of functions designed to fit the needs of any size live video broadcaster. It delivers industry-leading video transmission resiliency and high-definition picture quality within an ultra-compact and rugged hardware chassis. With TVU One with HEVC, broadcasters can fully leverage the versatility of a lightweight, IP-based high-definition video field transmitter without sacrificing performance, features or picture quality. TVU One with HEVC is available with embedded modems and can transmit simultaneously over multiple connections, including cellular, microwave, satellite, BGAN, WiFi and Ethernet.

At CABSAT, TVU Networks will also showcase its new TVU Transcriber technology. Using voice recognition technology, the AI-based audio to text transcribing service provides the option to output text to a file format from an audio input source for auditing purposes, or embed text into a video stream for closed or open captioning. TVU Transcriber can be purchased standalone or added as an option to TVU Transceivers.

Also to be shown is TVU Grid, an IP video distribution, routing and switching system that gives broadcasters the ability to seamlessly switch live IP video content and share live streams between remote locations. The solution provides the ability to route live, professional-quality video streams with as low as sub-second delay over IP networks to one or more Grid-enabled news stations anywhere in the world as it’s happening.

TVU Networks will also show the TVU MLink TE4500 H.265/HEVC and 4K encoding solution – a rack-mount encoder for satellite and microwave vehicles that transmits video using HEVC video compression and Inverse StatMux Plus advanced IP video technology. The MLink TE4500 delivers the same high quality picture that’s currently available with TVU’s award-winning cellular IP-based mobile live video transmitters. TVU MLink also delivers more efficient compression, requiring less data transmission.

TVU RPS will also be on hand at CABSAT. The solution enables the production of a live, synchronized multi-camera program in a remote location using mainly a broadcaster’s existing control room in their studio and a public Internet connection from the field. The TVU RPS transmitter encodes up to six synchronized SDI sources and transmits high-quality and low-latency IP video from the remote location to a studio-based receiver, and the receiver outputs six synchronized SDI outputs. TVU RPS users see significant cost savings with the ability to utilize existing in-house production staff and equipment at the studio, eliminating the need for large production crews in the field.

TVU Networks will also showcase its TVU Vista solution for PTZ cameras.  TVU Vista allows for the management and control of PTZ IP-based cameras from remote locations. Ideal for fixed camera deployment such as traffic cameras and beauty shot cameras, Vista aggregates multiple IP connections simultaneously for high bandwidth – combining cellular, WiFi, Ethernet and other IP connections. TVU Vista offers a modular design with simple power on and connection operation.
