Grass Valley Supplies Saint Petersburg TV Channel With New LDX 82 Series Cameras

Grass Valley has supplied Saint Petersburg TV Channel with 12 LDX 82 Flex Cameras with extended color gamut and optional HDR capabilities. These cameras enhance Saint Petersburg TV’s live studio productions with high-quality content for news, morning talk shows, and music programming.

Grass Valley worked with systems integrator DNK Corporation to enhance Saint Petersburg TV’s studio production services to encompass SD/HD/3G as well as SDR and HDR content simultaneously. With Grass Valley’s LDX 82 Series cameras and XCU base stations, Saint Petersburg TV can now manage any type of production, host signals and support national integration all from two dedicated video and audio control rooms.

“Our first priority is always creating top-quality content for our viewers. Innovative solutions and efficient support for those solutions are critical to that mission,” says Iliya Osichev, chief technical officer, Saint Petersburg TV Channel. “Not only do we have experience with the quality of Grass Valley solutions, but their local team has proven that they are here to be true colleagues with us. The LDX 82 Flex cameras are a great addition to our live productions as they are completely unique in their native HDR capabilities and fully compatible with 3G fiber/triax transmission systems.”

The LDX 82 Flex is a single-format 1080i or 720p camera, with superior imaging, processing, and performance — built for business flexibility and operational excellence. That means Saint Petersburg TV has the ability to upgrade the LDX 82 Flex to any other camera in the LDX 82 Series range, based on its business and production needs.

“We are very pleased that Saint Petersburg TV selected Grass Valley cameras for its studios. The LDX cameras with the in-house developed Xensium CMOS imagers will enable them to significantly improve quality,” notes Tim Banks, vice president sales and marketing, EMEA, Grass Valley. “Our value proposition and local presence are key differentiators to support Saint Petersburg TV in its ambitious growth and studio expansion plans.”
