ATEME’s Flamingo Head-End Drives Hoist Group’s New nPVR, Catch-Up Services

ATEME and Hoist Group, a major provider of next generation hospitality technology across EMEA, announced the availability of network Personal Video Recording (nPVR) and catch-up TV, two new TV services set to improve guest infotainment in the hotel sector.

To provide hotels with these new capabilities, Hoist Group has integrated ATEME’s specially adapted and customized Flamingo headend technology into the latest version of its interactive TV system, Hoist Interactive TV. At the heart of the guest infotainment and communication services, the Hoist Interactive TV middleware brings advanced TV services to hotels. In addition to being able to choose from an array of live national and multi-national TV channels, hotel guests will be able to record TV programs, so they can view them at any time during their stay.

“With changing lifestyles bringing about new TV consumption behavior, the quality of in-room infotainment has become an increasingly important factor when choosing a hotel,” says Francois Clemenceau, Sales Director at ATEME. “Guests now expect the same TV experience that they get at home – if not better. We are honored that Flamingo was selected by Hoist Group to integrate these innovative services.”

First piloted in 2020 at Emirates Palace Operated by Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, one of the Middle East’s leading hotels, these new TV services are now ready for full roll-out to new customers. The hundreds of hotels throughout EMEA that are existing users of ATEME’s Flamingo head-end can also benefit from them with an upgrade option.

“Thanks to ATEME’s Flamingo integrated into our Hoist Interactive TV, we can offer hotels innovative TV solutions that have proven to be highly dependable, with a satisfying viewing experience,” says Marco Matias, CTO for the Hoist Group. “We know that guest satisfaction is determined by their experience of hotel technology, and our integrated solution provides sought-out services that we are confident will more than meet their expectations. It also fits in nicely with the Digital Transformation program we launched in May to help hotels extract more value from technologies.”

ATEME and Hoist Group have worked together for over twelve years, creating a highly successful technical and commercial partnership that has resulted in hundreds of deployments of the award-winning Flamingo head-end, particularly in the high-end hotel chain and exclusive boutique hotel sectors across EMEA.
