Riot Games Rolls Out New LED Stage, Augmented Reality for VALORANT Masters Berlin Production

The VALORANT Masters Berlin tournament wrapped up on Sunday at Verti Music Hall and the Emmy award-winning Riot Games production team pulled out all the stops for the high-profile event. Due to the pandemic, the LAN event in Berlin did not feature a live crowd. Instead, Riot opted to create an eye-grabbing LED stage and integrate new augmented reality graphics to create excitement for fans streaming live at home.

In addition to the new LED stage fully integrated into the broadcast, Riot featured leveraged AR for the map selection process before each matchup. Using Stype camera-tracking technology in the studio and Unreal Engine 4 to create the AR elements, Riot was able to create a wholly unique new experience for fans. Check it out below:
