World Chase Tag Names Johnny McMahon as New General Manager, Chief Content Officer

World Chase Tag USA (WCT) has appointed Johnny McMahon as General Manager and Chief Content Officer of World Chase Tag. McMahon’s previous production experience saw him monetize content on distribution platforms throughout the world.

In addition, WCT received an additional equity investment from production partner Tupelo Honey, which is owned by Gray Television.

The two developments should further expand the international global presence of WCT. The WCT5 World Championship will premiere on media partner ESPN in June 2022.

“My objective is to continue to expand the sport of World Chase Tag,” says McMahon, who will split time between WCT offices in Los Angeles, New York and Indianapolis. “I look forward to working with WCT founders Christian and Damien Devaux in increasing global worldwide awareness through multi-platform distribution with compelling content.”

McMahon has decades of experience in executive leadership roles, most recently as the VP of WPT Studios at World Poker Tour. While there, McMahon created WPT Distribution USA, selling to Linear Networks while also building and distributing a WPT FAST Channel worldwide to OTT streaming platforms, leading its division to a multi-million-dollar revenue business.

His other roles include Head of Digital Production at Endemol USA, VP of Production at RipeDigital Entertainment, and Manger of Production and Finance at Lifetime Television.

“McMahon’s combined production and distribution experience are exceptional, and position World Chase Tag to expand its worldwide presence,” says Cary Glotzer, Tupelo Honey CEO and President of WCT. “With his depth of knowledge, we look forward for the expansion of more international and domestic media partners to experience the world’s best Parkour Athletes.”
