MediaPro Odyssey Set for OneSoccer Production of Canadian Woman’s Team Match

OneSoccer, Canada’s dedicated soccer channel, will show live and exclusive coverage of Canada Soccer’s Women’s National Team’s home friendly match against Korea Republic at BMO Field in Toronto this Sunday June 26th at 3pm ET / 12pm PT. Mediapro Canada will produce the signal for global distribution with a crew of some 20 broadcast professionals working across 10 cameras and the company’s 4K mobile unit Odyssey.

MediaPro’s Odyssey production vehicle will be used to produce this weekend’s Canada women’s soccer match in Toronto.

In Canada, the match will air live and exclusively on OneSoccer, which is available as a streaming service to millions of Canadians through connected devices. OneSoccer is also carried as a linear channel on Telus Optik TV (Ch. 980 in the More Sports pack) and on the  fuboTV Canada platform.

The match will also be available to millions of viewers outside of Canada through, among others, Sky Sports in Korea, Fox Sports in the US, Flow Sports in the Caribbean, HiSportsTV! In Mexico and BT Sport in the UK and Ireland.

Alba Campabadal, Head of Production at Mediapro Canada and Vice President, OneSoccer, said she was thrilled to once again showcase Canada’s trailblazing national team on OneSoccer. “We want to give the women the credit they deserve. This will be the Canadian women’s first match in Toronto since they won Olympic Gold last summer and we aim to produce the best possible show for fans across the country”.

The match will serve as a valuable tune-up for the Canadian women, the reigning Olympic champions following their Gold Medal-winning performance in Tokyo last summer, as they prepare for the upcoming 2022 Concacaf W Championship, the international women’s soccer tournament that qualifies national teams from the Concacaf region for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand, the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris and the 2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup.

Award-winning broadcaster Andi Petrillo will be in the OneSoccer studio to host the coverage with analyst Oliver Platt, while sports journalist Emily Wilson will be at BMO Field as sideline reporter and special guest Diana Matheson, former Canadian international and double Olympic bronze medallist, comes on board as pitchside analyst. English-language commentary will be provided by Adam Jenkins alongside color commentator Gabriella Trichilo, with Matt Cullen calling the game in French.

OneSoccer’s content bears witness to the company’s dedication to the game in Canada; over 90% of programming on the channel is Canadian content, while the company employs dozens of Canadian broadcast professionals as well as current and former players, both female and male, as onscreen talent and commentators. Mediapro Canada, together with its partner Canadian Soccer Business, is dedicated to ensuring the success of the Canadian Premier League, the top-tier professional men’s soccer league launched in 2019, as well as a commitment to developing a women’s league.
