IBC 2022: The Switch To Share Latest Developments In Its Expanding Cloud Video Services Platform

The Switch will discuss the growing capabilities of its Cloud Video Services platform, MIMiC, and share how it powers coverage of some of the world’s most talked about live events when it attends IBC2022 (Amsterdam, September 9-12). In meetings at the event, The Switch will highlight how its cloud platform empowers sports and esports leagues, news organizations, enterprises, entertainment event producers, broadcasters, and other content owners of all sizes to cost-effectively package and deliver high-quality live coverage from any location.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to meet with our customers, partners and industry friends face-to-face to share all the new services and features we’ve built into MIMiC when we attend IBC,” said Eric Cooney, President & CEO at The Switch. “Our growing range of live production and transmission services equips companies producing live content of all types with the tools they need to maximize their content’s value. It enables them to produce and deliver more live content in more formats than ever, growing their audiences across all types of platforms.”

In its meetings with customers and partners, The Switch will spotlight its fast-evolving MIMiC cloud platform, which now supports:

Full live remote/distributed IP video production
Real-time clipping and editing for social media
Cloud-based global transmission
MIMiC’s latest developments are in production and include: adding the ability to support both clean and dirty feeds, so that users can send both unadorned video outputs and those with on-screen graphics and logos; and support for multiple output aspect ratios for the same production to eliminate the need for separate productions to provide different formats for various destinations – such as broadcast, streaming and social media.

The Switch will have a private meeting room in the IABM Lounge at IBC 2022 (Hall 4, Level 2), where guests will learn how the company enables live content owners to produce and deliver content. They will be able to discuss a range of real-world case studies where The Switch has powered live content, including Wimbledon 2022, the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) Gold Cup, the Melbourne Cup, HubSpot’s global enterprise marketing events, and the French Open at Roland Garros. Its expertise includes powering live coverage for international awards shows, top-tier sporting events, esports tournaments, news programs, niche sports and livestreamed corporate events.

MIMiC, combined with The Switch’s traditional production and transmission offerings, enables the company to offer a solution – or a combination of services – that fits the needs of any live event producer, whether for linear TV, an over-the-top streaming service, social media or a specific closed-loop event. Leveraging its innovative mobile, remote, and cloud-based services, along with unparalleled first-mile connectivity expertise and extensive global reach, The Switch is able to meet the specific needs of any sized organization creating and distributing live content.

As media organizations seek to meet exploding demand for a broader range of broadcast-quality live content across multiple platforms and devices, The Switch delivers a unique, wide-ranging combination of services that span full live remote productions, real-time social media highlights, global transmission, and everything in-between.
