Fox NFL Sunday To Broadcast Live From Air Base in Qatar in Honor of Veterans Day

In honor of Veterans Day, Fox NFL Sunday continues its longstanding tradition of broadcasting from a military installation to honor men and women who have served in the U.S. armed forces. This year, Fox NFL Sunday broadcasts live from Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar with a two-hour show beginning at 11:00 AM ET on Sunday, Nov. 13. Fox NFL Sunday cast featuring Curt Menefee, Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, Michael Strahan, Jimmy Johnson and Jay Glazer will appear along with an audience of U.S. Air Force Airmen.

The Fox NFL Hall of Fame crew will join the Airmen upon arrival in Qatar and be featured with them throughout the show with live demonstrations leading into the day’s Fox NFL schedule, culminating with America’s Game of the Week featuring the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers.

“We are grateful to continue our longstanding tradition of honoring our armed forces through our Fox NFL Sunday broadcast from the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar and in all we do,” says Eric Shanks, CEO/executive producer, Fox Sports. “Fox Sports’ commitment to our military takes inspiration from our servicemen and women who epitomize bravery and sacrifice.”

In addition to preparations for the two-hour pregame show, the network is furthering renovations to the Fox Sports Skybox Lounge which has been the centerpiece for Al Udeid’s rest and relaxation with over one million service members who were deployed in the region utilizing the facility. Originally called The Desert Eagle Lounge, the first phase of renovation began back in 2010.

Fox Sports also showcases tie-ins to the FIFA World Cup, kicking off in Doha, Qatar Sunday, Nov. 20, on FS1, with special guest appearances by USMNT head coach Gregg Berhalter and lead Fox Sports soccer analyst Alexi Lalas, who will share in honoring Veterans Day across the show.

Historically, Fox Sports has saluted the troops from the U.S. Naval Academy-Annapolis (2021), Marine Corps Air Station Miramar-San Diego (2020), U.S. Military Academy-West Point (2019), Fort Benning (2018 and 2014), Naval Station Norfolk (2017), Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (2015), Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan (2009), and the USS Harry S. Truman in the Mediterranean Sea (2000), among multiple other locations.
