Cleveland Cavaliers, Bally Sports Ohio and Canon Debut Interactive C-View Alternative Stream as Part of Fan Appreciation Game Against Hornets

The Cleveland Cavaliers, Bally Sports Ohio and Canon will debut an alternate video stream leveraging the venue’s C-View volumetric technology this Sunday when the Cavs take on the Hornets at the FieldHouse. Fans can access the alternative stream via the Bally Sports app by authenticating with their cable provider credentials or signing in directly with their Bally Sports account.

Viewers who opt to watch the alternative stream will get a chance to vote on unique viewing perspectives with other members of the viewing community throughout the entirety of the game.

The C-View platform is a collaboration between Canon and the Cavaliers and features over 100 cameras placed throughout the venue’s seating bowl. The cameras leverage volumetric capture technology to create a digital twin of the playing surface and action on the floor. Using real-time, voxel-based graphic compositing, Canon translates the footage into a video stream providing viewers unique viewing perspectives and angles not available anywhere else across the broadcast landscape.

Viewing perspectives that include player and coach points of view, birds eye and sneaker level angles and many more will be on display for fans to experience throughout the game.

The video stream will be synced with audio from the Bally Sports Ohio broadcast team comprised of John Michael, Austin Carr, Brad Daugherty and Serena Winters.

The alternate video stream and viewer polling will go live in the Bally Sports app 10 minutes prior to Sunday’s 1 p.m. EST tip-off.
