Crayon APAC Channel Division Expands Cloud Portfolio with Addition of Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage

Crayon confirms a new regional distribution agreement between its Asia Pacific channel organization, rhipe, and cloud storage provider Wasabi Technologies. The availability of Wasabi cloud storage addresses the growing demand in APAC for predictable and affordable solutions as cloud storage costs rise.

The deal will see Wasabi’s hot cloud storage solutions added to rhipe’s cloud platforms portfolio, and immediately available for transacting on the rhipe PRISM platform. It adds aN offering to rhipe’s portfolio that delivers millisecond access to cloud stored data, without complex tiered pricing models and onerous fee structures.

“Providing our partners with solutions that optimise budget allocations is core to our channel strategy, and Wasabi delivers benefits needed to maximise the value and return on cloud investments,” says Warren Nolan, SVP of Channel and Strategy at Crayon APAC. “This agreement provides partners with a top-notch cloud storage service for their customers at an extremely competitive price point. Wasabi’s technology is a strong addition to the solution mix required for cost optimised data management in cloud environments, including hybrid and multi-cloud. We’re excited to have Wasabi onboard.”

The distribution agreement between rhipe and Wasabi is a timely response to increased demand for cost-effective data storage, and will bolster Wasabi’s expansion plans for the region, according to Craig Stockdale, Managing Director Channels – Australia & NZ, Wasabi Technologies.

“Data growth has now reached unprecedented levels and storage and backup costs are front of mind for customers in Australia and across the region,” says Stockdale. “Wasabi provides simple pricing structures for cloud storage that is fast, secure, and scalable, and eliminates the egress and API request fees charged by other vendors. Our agreement with rhipe ensures channel partners will benefit from our differentiated solutions and it’s a great step forward for Wasabi’s evolution across ANZ and APAC.”
